The string quartet developed with Haydn, established with Beethoven and exploded with Bartók. For the post-World War II avant-garde perspective, the string quartet was associated with classical forms, but during 1960s composers reinvestigated the genre, rediscovered its challenges and expressive potentials.

Here you can discover outstanding body tactile sounds and the imaginative world of Lucas Fagin’s Línea de Universo. You can listen and read the profound richness of the textures invented by Patricia Sucena de Almeida in her luminousNocturna Itinera.
Check-out the strident, impressive and greatly articulated mechanical figures of REM by Ondrej Adamek. And finally come back to the roots visiting Louis Andriessen’s Quartet in two movements.
