It’s a brand new year and a whole lotta stuff goin’ on! My Hands On The Wheel album was named one of the Best Albums of the Year by over a dozen radio stations. And on the European chart, Hit-Tracks Top 100, the title track and first single, “Hands On The Wheel” went to #5! The second single “The Ballad Of John Lee” is moving up fast! Last week #61, this week…#14!.

I’m excited to be going to the the 2014 NAMM Convention in Anaheim, California, as a guest of AV Now Audio company. The NAMM show is the world’s largest trade-only event for the music products industry. It runs Jan. 23 – 26th. This is a prestigious event and a wonderful opportunity to meet with this segment of the music entertainment business. I look forward to attending very much. Thank you to my friends at AV Now. Yosemite National Park! Located not far from the entrance to this amazing National Park is the Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino, with a beautiful hotel and all the amenities of a full casino. Join us there on Friday, January 31 and Saturday, February 1 . We will be in concert in the Chukchasni Resort Showroom, Casa De Fuego. There will be a full bar, dance floor and great tables, all with a view of the stage. This concert will start at 9 PM and is offered with a no cost ticket – open door to everyone!
Everyone asks, “When are you playing Biscuits & Blues again?” We will be at Biscuits and Blues on Thursday, February 13th for two shows, 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM . My shows at Biscuits & Blues are a very fun night in San Francisco! The club has amazing food and every table has a great view of the stage. Located at 401 Mason Street with plenty of parking nearby. Tickets are $15 and are good for both shows.
Micky’s in Lemoore, CA! This bar ROCKS! We will be on stage there Saturday, March 8th at 9:30 PM. They are located in downtown Lemoore at 230 Fox Street.
Two fun nights: Friday & Saturday, March 21 & 22 at Eagle Mountain Casino in Porterville, California! We will be Rockin’ the Blues in the Summit Room with lots of dancing! It’s always a good time, with no cover and good food.
Advance info. show alert: We are doing a special show at a very cool club called The Pocket in Santa Cruz California – it will be an excellent blusin’ night. Tickets are only $5, and it will be where you want to be on Friday, March 28th! Tumbleweed, Brian, Stan and I will be in Santa Cruz to have a great time! Join us at 3102 Portola Drive in Santa Cruz at around 9:30 PM, and we will shake, rattle and roll until midnight!
I want to thank Frank Roszak for the excellent publicity and radio work on my Hands On The Wheel album. Each year, The Blues Foundation presents the Keeping The Blues Alive (KBA) Awards to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the Blues world. Frank is being recognized with this national award from the Blues Music Foundation in Memphis on Saturday night. Well deserved. Congratulations Frank!
I appreciate the support from many people about wanting myself and the band in Memphis this week to perform at the Orpheum Theater for the Blues Music Foundation celebration week. We look forward to being apart of this wonderful week of Blues music celebration in the near future.

It’s great getting hit song recognition at radio for my song “Ballad Of John Lee”. Written about the great Bluesman, John Lee Hooker, it has been played all over the world on many, many radio shows. And hearing this song played daily on BB Kings’ “Bluesville” channel on SIRIUS radio is a WOW for me! Powerful syndicated radio shows like Blues Deluxe Radio also helped this song get heard around the world and broadcast to many rural areas of the USA. As I exchanged emails or spoke with the radio show hosts, they have been awesome and so nice to talk with. They are all amazing show hosts with cool personalities that their listeners enjoy every week.
