Flushing, Queens –Did you know that in 2012 Flushing Town Hall was voted the best venue to take in a jazz performance in Queens?Our 2nd floor theater will be closed from mid- October through Spring 2014 for renovations, so our gallery will become the go-to place for great music, including a new series- the Music Mix Series. These concerts will offer both traditional and new jazz in an intimate setting. All artist are selected by the Queens Jazz Overground and our Jazz Producer Clyde Bullard.“Queens has a rich history in the jazz community. Flushing Town Hall is pleased to welcome an array of musicians for our first ever year-long Music Mix series,” says Ellen Kodadek, Executive and Artistic Director of Flushing Town Hall.

Trumpeters of Queens

For the inaugural Trumpeters of Queens show, Josh Deutsch brings a set of original music for his energetic quintet, and Miki Hirose showcases music from his latest CD, “Scratch”.

Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts (FCCA) was founded in 1979 to be a revitalizing force for its community, and a creative catalyst for developing and promoting the arts throughout the Borough of Queens, the most culturally diverse county in the United States. FCCA restored, operates and programs historic Flushing Town Hall (circa 1862) as a multi arts center (on behalf of New York City, which owns the building) and provides services to artists, arts organizations and educational institutions, borough- wide.
