A women of many talents, Cotillard began her career working in French cinema before landing supporting roles in larger blockbusters such as Big Fish and A Very Long Engagement. However it was her portrayal as French singer Édith Piaf in the biopic La Vie en Rose in 2007 which brought her to international attention, winning her an Oscar, BAFTA, Golden Globe and Cesar award for best actress in the same year.

In 2008 she was chosen as the face of Dior’s ‘Lady Dior’ advertising campaign, appearing in a series of short films and collaborating with Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand for one of the leading tracks, ‘The Eyes of Mars.’
