Hello Jean-Paul,
Drummers and Friends.
Just a quick note about the Babara Djembe Workshops this weekend starting TONIGHT!
Hello!
Receiving this? Means you have registered and we expect to see you Friday (tonight) or/and and Saturday and Sunday. And if you have not, please do. It will be the most fun and informative drumming event of the year!
• Friday is also at 7 PM begins at 7 PM – 9 PM. We’ll open doors at 6:30 PM
• Saturday #1 is Noon to 3PM outside at he Banks of the River Charles LOT #4 Soldiers Field Rd. Brighton, MA 02134 Chair, drums, water, hat.
• Saturday #2 is 5 PM to 8:00 PM at Fox Library
• Sunday is 1 PM – 4 PM at Fox Library
Please bring your djembe, we have water but I’d bring a bottle. DRINK WATER at drumming events. Bring a phone that records or any audio device. Both Android and Apple and probably Google and Nokia make great recording audio only phones. Possibly paper if you write.
No video until we unleash the ghost of teachers past! I’d love some Instagram, snap chat, Facebook live but we need to limit the length and Twitter of course. Fun, overwhelming relief captured by our new windows to life. Short quick snippets.
Stuff: YOUR DJEMBE! Earplugs but you might not need em. We have the foam ones for everyone.
Please, no coffee downstairs and you can’t play our drums with rings, watches or bracelets. You shouldn’t with yours either but that’s your choice. Ours – no.
Directions: You are coming to Fox Branch Library, 175 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington, MA 02474 – my cell if lost or stolen: 617-686-6080. This is to the Right of DrumConnection the former store,. Except 12-3 Saturday. Outside at the Charles or if inside Munroe Center for the Arts right up the road into the beginning of Lexington.
Parking: Come down Cleveland Street right next to us for the other side (it’s a one-way and park on either side a close to Mass Ave as you can. Or park on Mass Ave either side and also there side street right across Mass Ave.
You may ignore resident parking signs as they are not in effect. Do NOT ignore “Don’t park here” in front of the Library. It’s chancy. No fire hydrants, no handicapped spaces. It may be a little tight because people come drum or go to see an Air Conditioned movie.
If you start to get even a gram of frustration. Take at Turn at the Restaurant Zhu (big Green sign) and your first R into the big parking lot! Ignore signs. They don’t really close and you will be safe and sound there. Worry free. Walk across Mass Ave and you are there with us in 20 seconds.
And I am looking for a few helpers to reorganize the room, Might take 30 minutes of fairly light work.
PS – We are comfortable AC’d! And bring any questions so I don’t have to answer more tonight 🙂 Love you all!
Thanks for supporting African Drummers and their cultures here with us in this way, it saves lives and changes lives. So more reasons for enjoying drumming and learning together.
Remember you can do this! Babara is a very caring and fun teacher and you will feel welcome.
See you soon.
