GARY LUCAS just packed legendary Shakespeare and Company Bookshop in Paris on Thursday Nov. 7th (his third appearance there) with an in-store signing and solo performance in support of his new book “TOUCHED BY GRACE–MY TIME WITH JEFF BUCKLEY” (Jawbone Press), selling-out their entire stock of his book. This followed his successful instore signing and performance at NYC’s Bookbook on Monday Nov. 4th directly after appearing in Harlem Nov. 1st at the landmark United Palace Theatre performing his Spanish “Dracula” live score.
Gary heads now to the UK to begin a two week solo tour entitled GARY LUCAS ‘TOUCHED BY GRACE’–FROM BEEFHEART TO BUCKLEY AND BEYOND– with an appearance this Thursday at London’s Southbank Centre.
This has been a very active touring period for him.
Gary Lucas performed at the Barezzi Festival in Parma Italy Oct. 24th before a packed house at the Teatro Parco
for a special 3 hour concert/career retrospective entitled Gary Lucas Touched By Grace:  From Beefheart to Buckley and Beyond
After receiving a special Lifetime Achievement Award from the festival, Gary was joined onstage by legendary Italian singer/songwriter Vinicio Caposella,
who read from Gary’s new book “Touched By Grace” while Lucas improvised on guitar.
This was followed by a solo set drawing on material from Gary’s 20-plus solo albums,
and then Gary was joined onstage by guest vocalist Alessio Franchini, who performed many of the dozen songs co-written by Gary Lucas and Jeff Buckley, including “Grace” and “Mojo Pin”.
Directly before his appearance in Italy, Gary performed solo in Havana Cuba at the Gaia Arts Centre on Oct. 17th as part of a new production of Federico Garcia Lorca’s play “La Casa de Bernarda Alba”, directed by Esther Cardoso. He also performed live on national Radio Havana Cuba.
Gary began what proved to be very busy month with the NYC premiere of the expanded concert edition of his celebrated 1930’s Chinese pop project “The Edge of Heaven”, which received standing ovations at BAM’S sold-out Fisher Space Oct. 4th and 5th.
On Nov. 1st, Gary presented a special Day of the Dead show, performing his original solo guitar score accompanying the 1931 Spanish-language “Dracula” at the United Palace Theatre in Harlem .

This will be the third time this year Lucas has performed with the film, after selling out both the Jerusalem Film Festival and the Silent Movie Theatre in Hollywood with the project last July.
He is scheduled to perform with Spanish “Dracula” again at the end of November at the Cineteca Nacional in Mexico, followed by performances in December with the film in the Czech Republic and January 2014 in Santander Spain.
An excerpt from Lucas’ score is included on Gary’s new “Cinefantastique” album. out now on Northern Spy Records.
First review just in for Gary Lucas’ new “Cinefantastique” album:

Guitar wizard Gary Lucas’ impressive CV includes stints with Captain Beefheart and writing iconic songs with Jeff Buckley. As a movie buff, he also often performs one-man live soundtracks to macabre classics like Spanish “Dracula”. His hypnotic, cinematic virtuosity is celebrated further on this stirring record, which also includes re-imagined guitar scores to cult, classic flicks by Fellini, Hitchcock and Herzog.”
