Leo Fender died 22 years ago on March 21, 1991. He was 81 years old, and had suffered from Parkinson’s disease. A radio and TV repairman who never learned how to play the guitar–or even how to tune it–he nonetheless revolutionized the instrument in more ways than we can count. The Precision Bass, Telecaster, and Stratocaster are just a few of the lasting legacies to Leo Fender's innovation. RIP, Leo.
