Shavonne Hall is a female singer, writer, guitar player, and poet from Roosevelt, Long Island, New York. With no specific genre and creating one of her own, Illuminous brings light to music through thought provoking lyrics and melodies. Shavonne is currently working on her first LP “Revelations”, produced by Don Lloyd of OMG On My Grind Entertainment, due to be released early March 2014.
Shavonne is far from a typical up and coming artist. She started a following on Youtube with two recently post-ed videos featuring her single and a live performance, entitled “Already Know by Illuminous” and “Illuminous at Ve-locity 5”. Her single “King In My Eyes” debuted on public radio in 2014 on Washington DC’s WPFW 89.3 FM on “ Soul Conversations”. “I have found the one for me, he is a king in my eyes” lyric transports the listener into a place of euphoria.
Influences are her father Aaron Hall, Jr., her grandmother Maggie Jones, Daryl Coley, the Winans, the Clark Sisters, Take 6, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Manhattan Transfer, Ella Fitzgerald, Fred Astaire, Bing Crosby, Queen Latifah, Frank Sinatra, Guy, Pharcyde, Queen, UB40, Frankie Beverly and Maze, Michael Jackson, Sting, Aerosmith, Fiona Apple, Gwen Bunn, Amy Winehouse, Tracy Chapman, Jodeci, Potrait, Missy Elliott, Eric Clapton, Eric Benet, Sade, Quincy Jones, Miles David, Duke Ellington, Melissa Etheridge, the Internet, Bonnie Raitt, Marc Anthony, Buju Banton, Celia Cruz, Carlos Santana, Dwele, George Benson, Prince, Andrae Crouch, Tramaine Hawkins, and BeBe & CeCe Winans.
Shavonne is in a class by herself. She doesn’t fit into cookie-cutter genre classifications and be prepared to break the mold. Her sound is unique and fresh. Her soulful voice and heartfelt melodies invite listeners to be embraced and uplifted in her music. Shavonne Hall is “genuine soul” something everyone can appreciate.
