The early reviews have been great. Tom Hyslop, longtime writer for Blues Revue and other publications, said this:
The Billy Price Band today sounds better than ever, playing with soul, maturity, and taste…The pitch-perfect Strong ranks among Price’s finest achievements, and ought to be remembered when year-end best lists are made.
We are planning five–that’s right, five–CD release parties in some of our favorite locales: Pittsburgh (of course), Philadelphia, State College, Pa., Washington, Pa., and the Washington DC area.
For all five of the shows I am about to tell you about, fans who attend and buy a copy of Strong will receive a free download of a song we recorded with help from Pittsburgh rocker Joe Grushecky, “Burning a Hole in My Heart.” Joe wrote it and sang with me on the chorus, and it is damn good. It’s not on the album and is available for free exclusively for people who come to one of these shows.
The festivities begin at 8 pm on Friday, June 21 when doors open at Pittsburgh’s best performance space, the Club Café on the South Side, for a 9:00 show. Tickets are limited and are going fast, so if you want to be there to help us celebrate, get your tickets now.
Other release parties are
- June 23, Concerts Under the Stars, King of Prussia, Pa. near Philadelphia, 7:00 pm
- July 12, Whiskey Rebellion Festival, Washington, Pa., 9:00 pm
- July 13, American Ale House, State College, Pa., 9:00 pm. This is the same weekend as the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts in State College.
- July 19, Birchmere, Alexandria, Va., 7:30 pm, doors at 6:00
Our full schedule is online now and is always up to date. We hope to see you!
Your friend,
Billy Price
