OCTOBER VIDEO BLOG
Greetings Jean Paul Bellanger,
7 days into the new fan-funding campaign for the 2nd album and the train has definitely left the station! Have you taken a look yet at what all the fuss is about?
This week’s issue includes my video blog for October featuring my chat with Sue Kemp, my marketing “General” here in Bermuda, and together we talk about some of the highlights of this newly launched campaign.
I have to admit this has been a bit of a whirlwind, but I’m enjoying this experience and looking forward to seeing it all turn out for the Spring. I’ve included a list of this past week’s pledgers below in thanks – give ’em a round of applause!
I’ve also included a “PledgeMusic Q/A” section that should answer some of the questions I’ve heard from friends and fans in regards to the campaign.
From an ethical standpoint, I am a believer that if someone enjoys an artist’s product then they should consider buying it and supporting the artist to create more. I’ve given away lots of free tunes over the past 4 years, now I’m asking for fans to show some love and support me in return.
I will be sending out a few more emails than usual over the next 7 weeks to raise awareness and generate the needed support to reach 100% success – FYI.
The Blinding Heights Podcast will be returning with a new episode on Monday, November 19 featuring The Dirty Guv’nahs – yay 😉
Together, let’s all get.. “Dangerously Close”
Thank You and rock on,
THE “INTIMATE & INTERACTIVE SESSION” EXCLUSIVE REWARD
What are your favorite songs of all time? It would be my honour to sing them to you / with you virtually. Get me to perform any 4 tunes of your choice for you personally on acoustic guitar or call a bunch of friends over and let’s make a party out of it!
Need some song ideas? Take a look through my 500+ song request list online here → www.WillBlack.com/requestlist or simply choose your own.
Wanna know what makes this rockstar tick? I’ll give you 20 questions to find out! Learn about why I write and sing songs the way I do and why I believe you and I have more in common than not. Together, let’s get “Dangerously Close” and move this relationship forward from fan to friend 🙂
Our time together will take place online through Skype and last for approx. 30 mins. I will also send you an MP3 recording of the entire session so you can listen to it over and over again 😉
Is “Dangerously Close” out now?
No. The songs are written and I am going into the studio in February to finish recording the album. Everything will be finished for Spring 2013.
Why use a fan-funding campaign? Why not simply use your own $$$ and record it all yourself (like the last album)?
PledgeMusic offers an effective way to interact with my fanbase directly and scale the size
of the project (album) accordingly to response. I can also offer exclusives that wouldn’t be available if I waited until after the album had been recorded and manufactured. What happens to pledges if you don’t reach 100% with the campaign?
Credit Cards are not charged until a project reaches its 100% goal. PayPal pledges are always charged immediately, but are refunded if the project does not reach its goal. You can cancel your pledge at any time before your pledge is fulfilled… but of course, we’re going to hit 100% 😉
What happened to your new single, “Pretty Garden” that debuted November 1?
“Pretty Garden” is currently available as a free MP3 download and music video exclusively to fans via PledgeMusic who pledge towards this campaign (minimum only $10). The song and video will release worldwide with the new album in Spring 2013.
What if I can’t donate financially – is there some other way I can help?
Absolutely. I would ask that anyone who is supportive of the campaign for “Dangerously Close” to please post the link to PledgeMusic Campaign website on their social media pages (ie. Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and spread the word to their friends and other lovers of fine music:
Any questions I missed? Please email me and I will reply as best I can! Thanks.
