A l’occasion de la 7ème édition de Hear Palmer, Château Palmer accueillera deux jeunes pianistes, Dan Tepfer et Thomas Enhco, les 24 et 25 mars prochains. Au cours de ce concert unique au coeur du chai de la propriété, les artistes improviseront à deux pianos dans le but de révéler le millésime 2015. Le concert sera retransmis par France Musique le soir même dès 22h30, et sera disponible à l’écoute sur le site hear-palmer.com.

During this unique concert in the heart of the estate’s cellars, the musicians will improvise a piano duo to unveil the 2015 vintage. | Dan Tepfer et Thomas Enhco sont deux jeunes pianistes très talentueux, aux univers bien différents. Dan Tepfer, né à Paris, est un pianiste et compositeur basé à New York. Il a joué dans le monde entier, allant du piano solo au grand orchestre, et a eu le privilège d’être soutenu par le légendaire saxophoniste alto Lee Konitz. Le disque Duos with Lee témoigne de cette rencontre entre les deux musiciens. En 2011, son projet Goldberg Variations / Variations, dans lequel il interprète dans son intégralité et par coeur l’oeuvre de Bach ajoutant ses propres variations improvisées, a reçu un grand nombre de critiques élogieuses.Thomas Enhco, né à Paris également, est issu d’une grande famille de musiciens. A 14 ans il forme son propre trio puis compose et enregistre son premier album Esquisse. Il donne de nombreux concerts en France et dans le monde entier et est repéré en 2008 au Japon par Itoh « 88 » Yasohachi, un grand producteur de jazz japonais, qui lui permettra de réaliser son deuxième album Someday My Prince Will Come. En septembre 2014, il signe chez Universal Classic & Jazz, et enregistre son premier album piano solo, Feathers.
A unique duo, brought together for the event Dan Tepfer and Thomas Enhco are both extremely talented young pianists, both from very different musical backgrounds. Born in Paris, Dan Tepfer is a pianist and a composer living in New York. He has played all over the world, either as a solo artist or as part of big orchestras, and he had the privilege to be backed by the legendary alto saxophonist Lee Konitz. The record Duos with Lee bares witness to the meeting of these two musicians. In 2011, his Goldberg Variations/Variations project, in which he interpreted the entire collection of Bach, off by heart adding his own improvised variations, received a great number of glowing reviews
Thomas Enhco was born in Paris to a large musical family. At the age of 14 he formed his own trio and composed and recorded his first album Equisse. He has played many concerts in France and around the world and was noticed in 2008 in Japan by Itoh “88” Yasohachi, a well respected Japanese Jazz producer, who enabled him to record his second album Someday My Prince Will Come. In September 2014, he signed a contract with Universal Classic & Jazz, and recorded his first solo album Feathers |

| Le Millésime 2015, la suite d’une belle lignée : Il n’y a pas à dire, le chiffre 5 est le marqueur de très beaux millésimes. Depuis 1945, seul le millésime 1965 n’a pas honoré par sa qualité cette lignée. Après un long sommeil hivernal, les vignes se sont réveillées pour profiter d’un printemps favorable à leur développement, ensoleillé dans sa première partie et pluvieux en final. Durant la période estivale, la vigne a bénéficié d’une belle météo pour concentrer ses baies, puis d’une période plus humide pour les faire grandir. L’équilibre était idéal, et la promesse du chiffre 5 toujours plus présente dans les esprits. Les vendanges ont débuté le 22 septembre avec des merlots d’une grande richesse et d’une très belle maturité. Puis ont suivi, avec une qualité équivalente, les cabernets sauvignons et les petits verdots . Aujourd’hui, après ces premiers mois d’élevage en barriques, tout laisse à croire que 2015 s’inscrira dans la lignée des derniers grands millésimes, tels que 2010, 2009 et 2005.The 2015 vintage, the next in line of the great vintages: There is no doubt about it, the number 5 is the sign of a very fine vintage. Since 1945, only the 1965 vintage hasn’t lived up to expectations. After a long sleepy winter, the vines awoke to perfect spring conditions, sunny at the beginning and wet towards the end, ensuring good growth. During the warm summer, the vines concentrated on berry formation, then on berry growth in the period of more humid weather. A perfect balance, so the promise of the number 5 was more and more present in the minds. The harvest started on September 22nd with the rich, and perfectly ripe Merlots. The Cabernets Sauvignons and Petits Verdots followed with an equally rich harvest. Today, after the first months of barrel ageing, everything leads to believe that 2015 will be the next in line of the great vintages, of 2010, 2009 and 2005. |

| Château Palmer & le jazz, une philosophie commune : Hear Palmer est né de la rencontre entreJacky Terrasson, célèbre pianiste de jazz franco-américain, et Thomas Duroux, directeur général de Château Palmer. La mise en place de Hear Palmer résonnait comme une évidence aux oreilles des deux hommes, car entre Château Palmer et le jazz règne un savoureux dialogue fait de complexité et de spontanéité. A la fois universels et mystérieux, ils flirtent tout deux entre rigueur et improvisation. De ce mélange d’une passion pour le vin et d’une autre pour le jazz, a donc été organisé Hear Palmer 2009, première édition d’un événement devenu incontournable pour Château Palmer, où depuis sept ans maintenant, se succèdent de grands artistes de jazz.Château Palmer and Jazz, a shared philosophy: Hear Palmer came about following a meeting between Jacky Terrasson, a famous French-American jazz pianist and Thomas Duroux, managing director of Château Palmer. There is a delicious dialogue of complexity and spontaneity between Château Palmer and Jazz so creating Hear Palmer seemed an obvious outcome to both men. Universal and mysterious, they both flirt with rigour and improvisation. From their passion for both wine and jazz, the first Hear Palmer was organised in 2009, the first edition of an event that has become a key part of the Château Palmer calendar, where for the past seven years great jazz artists have taken to the stage.
