DENNIS LOREN Infos

I started out playing in bands in Junior High and High School in the early ’60s. By the early ’70 I performed as a singer-songwiter. I started doing music graphic design in 1967 starting out with concert posters. By the mid-’70s the graphics took over as I became the art director of a series of music magazines (Blitz!, Goldmine, R.P.M., Metal, Rock Shots, Black Sounds and Creem). I have designed LP jackets and CD packages. I continue to design concert posters and last year co-wrote and co-compiled a book called “Classic Rock Posters” with the late Mick Farren. Recently, the Blind Boys Of Alabama recorded a song called “I’ll Find A Way,” that I wrote the lyrics for some 35 years ago. Over the years I have work on projects for recording artists ranging from Frank Zappa, Muddy Waters, Big Brother & The Holding Company, Brian Wilson, BB King, Barry White, Elvis Costello, The White Stripes, The Flamin’ Groovies, Moonalice, Roky Erickson, Powder and so many more. A year ago I started writing songs again. I was stranded New York City during Hurricane Sandy, called “Waiting For Sandy.” I’ve got that itch again – ha!!! If you want to learn more you can go to my website www.dennisloren.com. The site needs some work, so not everything is functional yet, but you can read a more complete biography, if you scroll down on the left column and hit “previous entries” and keep scrolling down – ha!!! You can also check out these websites: www.moonaliceposters.com and www.cahootsgraffix.com. Have fun.
