Experience Hendrix, L.L.C. en partenariat avec Legacy Recordings, une division de Sony Music Entertainment, publie Jimi Hendrix Experience : Hollywood Bowl August 18, 1967 ce 10 novembre en vinyle, CD et sur toutes les plateformes numériques.

Ce concert, enregistré cinq jours seulement avant la sortie aux États-Unis de Are You Experienced, leur premier album, a la particularité d’être l’une des dernières fois où le groupe s’est produit devant un public alors qu’il était relativement inconnu.

Ayant déjà conquis le Royaume-Uni et l’Europe au cours des dix mois précédents, la grande majorité des 17 000 spectateurs de Los Angeles étaient venus voir les têtes d’affiche The Mamas & The Papas et ont été pris au dépourvu par la musicalité et le sens du spectacle de Jimi Hendrix. Enfin, le reste du monde peut profiter de ce set pour la première fois, étonnamment, pas une seule seconde de cet enregistrement en direct n’a jamais été diffusée auparavant, que ce soit par des canaux officiels ou autres.

JIMI HENDRIX’S LANDMARK ALBUM, BAND OF GYPSYS, CELEBRATED WITH REMASTERED 50TH ANNIVERSARY VINYL EDITIONS AVAILABLE MARCH 27

Jimi Hendrix’s immortal 1970 live album, Band Of Gypsys, is one of the most influential live concert albums of all time, with the charismatic guitar icon testing the bounds of his creative approach to produce some of the most ambitious music of his career. Capitol/UMe will honor this landmark record on March 27, almost exactly 50 years from its original release, with two special, limited-edition 50th Anniversary vinyl editions of Band of Gypsys that recapture the original album’s boundary-breaking spirit.

This new, all analog edition of Band Of Gypsys has been mastered from the original analog stereo tapes and will mark the first time Capitol/UMe has released this album onto 180-gram audiophile grade vinyl. With production overseen by Quality Record Pressings, Band Of Gypsys will be available on a 180-gram black vinyl pressing, plus as a limited-edition, 180-gram translucent cream, red, yellow and green swirl vinyl available exclusively from Authentic Hendrix: The Official Jimi Hendrix Store.

All 50th Anniversary vinyl editions of Band Of Gypsys will be packaged with an eight-page booklet filled with rare images from the concerts and an essay by John McDermott, plus the package will feature a 24″ x 36″ replica of Capitol Records’ original 1970 promotional Band Of Gypsys poster.

Authentic Hendrix: The Official Jimi Hendrix Store is also offering exclusive merchandise bundles featuring your choice of the 50th Anniversary vinyl edition of Band Of Gypsys along with either a hooded sweatshirt or t-shirt.

ELECTRIC LADYLAND : la pièce maîtresse et chef-d’œuvre incontestable fera l’objet d’une très attendue réédition Deluxe le 9 novembre prochain à l’occasion de son 50 ème anniversaire. La sœur adoptive du guitariste avait fauté en zappant le cinquantenaire des deux premiers albums. Elle se “rattrape” cette année !

Ce double album découvert en 1977 fut la raison pour laquelle je fus immédiatement atteint d’une étrange sensation totalement incurable dont les effets procurent encore aujourd’hui un bien-être inqualifiable.
