Raising The Roof Tour Announced

The Offspring Share Live Performance Video for “Gone Away”
The Offspring have unveiled a live performance video for “Gone Away.” The video, directed by Sean Sheetz, was filmed over two nights in September at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl and the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta.

A reimagined version of the song (which was originally recorded for the band’s 1997 platinum-selling album Ixnay on the Hombre) appears on The Offspring’s acclaimed, chart-topping tenth studio album Let the Bad Times Roll, released earlier this year. The new arrangement of “Gone Away” – which transforms the song into an elegiac piano ballad – has re-emerged as a fan favorite, and during this extended period of collective grief, the song has taken on a particular emotional resonance for many people.

Zella Day Releases “Golden” Twin Shadow Remix
Zella Day has released a remix of “Golden” by Twin Shadow. Listen HERE. Twin Shadow released his latest, self-titled album earlier this summer but he and Zella have been friends for a while. As she puts it, the collaboration came together as such:

“George and I have been driving past each other in our neighborhood for who knows how long, me in my dusty old Mercedes and him in his forest green pickup truck, without formally meeting up until now. Our mutual friend was having a birthday party in Hollywood and the both of us had just released songs earlier that day, we clinked our glasses in celebration of new music while bonding over our love for Beachwood and Shania Twain. Shortly after our run-in he released an album that I’ve had on repeat ever since. So when the time came to start considering remixes for “Golden” Twin Shadow was the obvious choice and luckily the stars aligned.”

The Record Company Unveil New Track, “Paradise”
Fresh off the heels of their #1 Most Added single at AAA Radio “How High,” GRAMMY-nominated rock band The Record Company unveil a new song, “Paradise;” Listen/share HERE.

“Paradise is shadows in the sunshine, floating a melody in six strings, tension and release. We wanted to write something that sounded like our dreams, asked where they come from, and what they mean or possibly don’t.”

The track, which lays back in a deep pocket with a spare, locked-in rhythm from bass and drums, bright bursts of guitar and, on the chorus, swelling keyboards that give the song a sense of lift, is from their highly anticipated third studio album, Play Loud, which is set for release October 8 on Concord Records. Matt Berninger Covers The Velvet Underground’s “I’m Waiting For The Man” For New Tribute Album
Fifty-four years after the release of The Velvet Underground’s classic debut album with Nico, the band’s original label Verve Records is gearing up to unleash a new covers compilation called I’ll Be Your Mirror: A Tribute to The Velvet Underground & Nico.

Ahead of the album’s September 24th release date, The National’s Matt Berninger released his rendition of “I’m Waiting For The Man”. Berninger takes the classic true-to-life tale of an addict purchasing heroin for 26 dollars and transforms it into a larger-than-life ballad. While he taps into the same agitated, withdrawal-induced energy as the original record, Berninger’s arrangement is more spacious and ornate compared to the original’s sparse and gritty sound.

“The Genesis of “Golden” happened as a tornado was tearing through Nashville and whispers of a global pandemic were evolving past a rumor. I was in Alabama writing with John Paul White as my phone was lighting up with messages from friends and family back home, I was supposed to drive back to Nashville that evening but plans changed like the weather. In the stillness of the studio “Golden” was written communicating with powers beyond my control, expressing and coping with the magnitude of the situation by creating art, singing a melody into the moment to address its fragility and infinite beauty.“

Who needs a car when you’ve got a plane? The Offspring have put a spin on James Corden’s popular Carpool Karaoke with Cockpit Karaoke — a video series that sees frontman Dexter Holland and guitarist Noodles singing along to some of the band’s biggest hits from inside a private jet that’s being flown by Holland, who’s a licensed pilot.

“We know everyone’s heard of Carpool Karaoke, but Cockpit Karaoke??? No one’s done that!! Since I’m a pilot, we thought it would be great if Noodles and I had some fun and got to sing along to some of our many hits.”

This week Zella Day premiered the video for “Holocene,” her debut collaboration with Natalie Mering of Weyes Blood.

Matt Berninger Announces Serpentine Prison Deluxe Edition, Releases Single “Let It Be”
An expanded deluxe edition of Serpentine Prison, the acclaimed solo debut by The National frontman Matt Berninger, will be released digitally on March 12, 2021.

The expanded edition, which was previously available as a limited-edition double vinyl album, features six bonus tracks, including two originals as well as interpretations of songs by Eddie Floyd, Morphine, Bettye Swan, and the Velvet Underground. A new, limited pressing on neon chartreuse vinyl is available exclusively from Berninger’s website.
